UNO! Mobile Community Cup 2024: Lennie Takes Home the Crown of H2 Semi-Final Champion

After a wildly competitive UNO!™ Mobile Wildcard Series: Community Cup 2024 H2 Semi-Finals in November, we are delighted to reveal our newest champion - congratulations Lennie from New Jersey, USA!

Following some epic rounds of UNO! Mobile, Lennie came out on top in the final match. He shares his thoughts on the win and expresses his thanks to friends and family for their incredible support:

“I am overwhelmed with excitement now that I’ve come out as the champion of the H2 Semi-Finals! And I am so happy to have made it this far!

I just want to give a big thank you to my parents for their support throughout this competition, and for understanding just how seriously I take UNO! Mobile, lol. And a special shout out to my best friend Harry, who watched the semi-final live and immediately called to congratulate me on the win (Harry is also a big time UNO! Mobile Player).”

Throughout the tournament, Lennie has been up against some of the best UNO! Mobile players, and with each match, he made every second count, taking home the crown with one unpredictable winning move:

“It has been amazing every step of the way, from the early qualification rounds to now advancing to the final! It blows me away each time I advance. I’m so happy to have made it to this point and I’m locked in and ready for whatever comes my way in January!

Hands down, the most memorable part of the Semi-Finals matches was when I put down a Discard All with only 0:01 left on the clock, jumping from 4th place with 55 points to 1st place with 13 points - advancing me to the final round of the semi-finals.”

Getting to know his competitors and their strategies was a key aspect of Lennie’s own winning strategy. He offered his top tips and tricks for UNO! Mobile with us after his win:

“The advice I have for UNO! Mobile players is to try to understand how your opponents play and to keep track of who plays what cards.

My preparation [for the Semi-Finals] mainly involved just playing the game and practicing, but I also focused on trying to analyze other players' strategies to understand how they play and anticipate their most likely moves.”

Outside of playing UNO! Mobile, Lennie is a student majoring in Advertising and Marketing at university. He gives us a snapshot of his exciting day-to-day life:

“My typical day consists of going to classes and attending clubs. But in my free time, I love going to football & basketball games and hanging out with friends downtown. Some of my hobbies/interests include photography, hiking / just being out in nature, and finding new shows to watch! I also love to learn about different places in the world and love to travel whenever I get the chance.”

Ahead of the Annual Grand Finale next January, Lennie shares how he plans to get that competitive edge to become the 2024 Community Cup Champion:

“To prepare for the Grand Final, I’ll mostly focus on playing the game and seeing if I can discover any new strategies or better understand opponents' strategies.

After winning my monthly final and the semi-final, I’m feeling pretty confident about my chances… without getting cocky, of course.”
